UK programme providing disadvantaged sixth-form students with funded STEM research placements alongside professional researchers.
What's on offer
Participants complete a research project in a university, research institute, or industry setting during the summer. Placements are fully funded, and students receive travel, subsistence, and support costs where needed.
Requirements
Applicants must be aged 16–19, studying STEM subjects, and meet widening participation criteria such as low household income, being the first generation to attend university, attending a school with low progression rates, receiving free school meals, living in care, or similar indicators of disadvantage.
Ideal applicant
Talented STEM students from underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds who are considering careers in science, engineering, technology, mathematics, or research.
