Overview

A merit-based undergraduate scholarship offered by the University of Birmingham to international students domiciled in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria or South Africa who are beginning an eligible full-time undergraduate degree at the University's Birmingham campus.

What's on offer

A £5,000 tuition fee award applied towards the first year of a full-time undergraduate degree at the University of Birmingham's UK campus. The scholarship is awarded upon enrolment in September 2026 and does not cover living costs, travel or visa expenses.

Requirements

Applicants must be domiciled in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria or South Africa; have received an offer for an eligible full-time undergraduate programme beginning in September 2026; select the University of Birmingham as their firm choice; meet the academic conditions of their offer; be classified as an overseas fee payer; and be able to fund the remaining tuition fees, living costs, visa and travel expenses. Applicants must be entering the first year of their programme at the Birmingham UK campus. They must also be registered with an approved local representative, have their undergraduate application attached to that representative and submit the scholarship application through the representative by 30 June 2026.
