Overview
A university fellowship for high-achieving young South Africans with entrepreneurial potential. The programme combines needs-based university funding with academic, personal and entrepreneurial development support, mentorship and access to a community of aspiring entrepreneurs.
What's on offer
Applicants with combined annual household income of R1 million or less receive full funding covering university accommodation, meals, textbooks, a tutoring allowance and a monthly stipend. Applicants from households earning above R1 million receive needs-based funding. Fellows also receive mentorship, access to an online entrepreneurial curriculum, entrepreneurship conferences, seminars and workshops, a community of like-minded individuals, business incubation opportunities and potential access to venture funding through E Squared.
Requirements
Applicants must be South African citizens, currently in Grade 12 in the year of application and under 21 during the application year. They must have achieved at least 70% overall in their final Grade 11 results excluding Life Orientation, plus at least 60% in Pure Mathematics or 80% in Mathematical Literacy. Applicants must intend to study an eligible degree at one of the Foundation's partner universities.
